On 23 January 2019, Dr. Ghosh, gave a public lecture ‘Can the non-human speak? Other Beings in Myth, Literature and Ethnography’.

During the lecture, Dr. Ghosh looked at some of the ways in which non-humans, e.g. trees and animals have been muted by certain classes of humans and that this has grave consequences in the Anthropocene.

He used examples from myth, history and his own ethnographic fieldwork, to also show how the non-human is and was able to speak. Valentina Mazzucato moderated.
