PAST EVENT

From July 20-24 2020, MO-TRAYL PhD researchers Onallia Osei, Sarah Anschütz and Gladys Akom Ankobrey participated in the European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA) biennial conference.

On the final day of the conference, Gladys Akom Ankobrey presented her paper titled ‘Why are you not crying: understanding young people’s transnational attachments through funeral visits to Ghana’. This presentation was part of a panel organized by Dr. Dilyara Müller-Suleymanova & Mareike Schrerer on second-generation perspectives on experiences of migration.

Originally, the EASA conference was scheduled to be held in Lisbon. However, due to COVID-19, it went fully online. To read more about Gladys' experience participating in an online conference, please see her blog (in Dutch).
