MO-TRAYL researchers participate in 2022 IMISCOE conference
MO-TRAYL researchers Onallia Esther Osei, Sarah Anschütz and Karlijn Haagsman participated in the 2022 IMISCOE conference, ‘Migration and Time: Temporalities of Mobility, Governance, and Resistance’. The conference was organized in a hybrid format and took place in Oslo, Norway, from June 29 to July 1, 2022.
Onallia gave a presentation in the panel ‘Transnational ties and migration aspirations’. Titled ‘Waiting while aspiring: Ghanaian young people whose parents reside abroad’, Onallia presented the findings of an article co-authored with Valentina Mazzucato and Karlijn Haagsman.
Sarah participated in the panel ‘Temporalities of transnational families’, which was chaired by Karlijn Haagsman. Sarah’s presentation, ‘Temporalities of extraordinary everydayness: How transnational youth pace their visits to the country of origin’, detailed findings of a forthcoming article co-authored with Valentina Mazzucato.
Besides the panel on ‘Temporalities of transnational families’, Karlijn also chaired the session ‘Exceptional temporalities of migrant exclusion and integration’.
