MO-TRAYL researcher Laura Ogden presents at ECER 2019
On 5 September 2019, MO-TRAYL PhD researcher Laura Ogden presented research from her fieldwork at the 2019 European Conference on Educational Research (ECER) in Hamburg, Germany. Laura's presentation, titled 'Greatness Awaits: How transnational young Ghanaians in Hamburg leverage English into educational capital', shared emerging findings about how young people who grow up between Ghana and Germany use their English language skills to bolster their performance in the German school system. The presentation was part of the panel organised by Prof. Sara Fürstenau and Prof. Sylvia Kesper-Biermann on 'Negotating Language Legitimacies in Transnational Educational Spaces: Institutional and Individual Perspectives.'
ECER 2019 took place from 2-6 September 2019 at Hamburg University (Germany).
