MO-TRAYL Workshop Entering the Field with Young People by Jürgen Jaspers
On 21 June 2017, the MO-TRAYL team engaged in a workshop with Jürgen Jaspers, assistant professor of Dutch Linguistics at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. Jaspers, a linguist, has plenty of experience of working with high school students and gave a training on 'entering the field with young people'.
Jaspers’ work entails classroom ethnography, as will some of the research projects of the MO-TRAYL team members. He talked about the challenges, good practices, and methodological and ethical issues when entering a research field with young people.
