MO-TRAYL PhD researcher Gladys Akom Ankobrey gives a lecture for the 2021 Black Achievement Month at the Volkenkunde museum, Leiden

On 10 October 2021, MO-TRAYL PhD researcher Gladys Akom Ankobrey gave a lecture about migrant-background youth's shifting ways of relating to the 'origin' country, drawing on her ethnographic research with young people of Ghanaian background between The Netherlands and Ghana. Following the lecture, Gladys moderated a panel discussion with young people with diverse migrant backgrounds around this topic.

The event was part of the annual Black Achievement Month in the Netherlands. This festival aims to celebrate the achievements of people of African descent, ranging from academics to artists.
